OTELLO G.PAGANO - il pittore
I’m always stimulated by new and interesting projects, and when Beppe told me about the new album Another Point Of View, considering also the various collaborations, the similar view on art and the friendship that unite us, I decided to give life to the album cover, making the art work.
Another Point Of View, other perspectives that I represented conceptually with eight sections like the number of the track list in the album. Three of these segments are coloured because they represent the past with all its decisions and the choices and paths to take. In each of these sections, the effect of a brushstroke creates a chromatic harmony which allows one section to interact with the other, thus each is a source of inspiration for the other. To give an example: the blue section, to the right of the work, recalls, according to Beppe, the previous album See The Sky, while according to me the yellow segment reminds of the project “A Rebours” (2012).
The other five sections are white because there is no history, there have no yet been changes or developments. Research is in progress.
The key that camouflages itself on the left side of the art work, almost like a “chameleon”, allows the opening of the keyhole which projects us on the road, offering, thus, new points of view and allowing the coloring of the white sections.
Once the road behind the keyhole is found, a change takes place, new emotions, perceptions and perspectives which are synonyms of growth and change just like this album is for Beppe and this art work for me.
Outlined by a discontinuous yet coloured line, the road suggests that we shouldn’t forget the past and we should make use of experience.
